The APCW

So I got an e-mail out of the blue from this site I'd never heard of. I don't usually respond to unsolicited e-mails, but this one turned my head. Read for yourself:

Welcome, Midnights Poker Club has launched its NEW CARD ROOM & WEBSITE, terminating its relationship with PokerDream, vastly improving play for everyone. Just for transferring your account over we offer you up to $600 free.

If you require assistance with transferring your account or setting up a new account talk live with our friendly support staff 24/7/365.

Okay, what does that sound like to y'all? Sounds like we can get our money from Poker Dream, doesn't it? So I responded to live support. Friendly person, can't fault them for that. They said management would get back to me. They did, and I got their e-mail this morning. Here's what it said:

You have received this email because you have recently expressed interest and have acted upon a recent Midnights Poker Club email update. I will briefly explain the reasons behind the move and how you may be impacted by such events.

REASONS FOR MOVE
Midnights Poker Club set out to offer the best promotions, service, and games to its players. When it was realized that this was impossible with its current network pokerdream it begun work on creating the poker room that it always wanted to offer. This is now possible and am very happy to invite you to join.

SETTING UP YOUR NEW ACCOUNT
To set up an account is very simple and you may have already done so. Quick sign up for free play can be done from the home page. Hopefully your existing player name is available, or this might be an opportunity for a change. Upgrading to real money play is equally straight forward and is done by adding some extra information.

TRANSFERRING YOUR FUNDS
Now transferring funds from your existing pokerdream account can be carried out in various ways. Midnights Poker Club is proud to offer the most money transfer options of any poker room online. The process is a straight withdrawal from your existing pokerdream account then a deposit. There is an excellent help page and support are always happy to help your individual situation. Make sure that with your new deposit you take advantage of our deposit bonuses.
(I highlighted the bold phrase myself, it was not written that way)

Excuse me? Just make a withdrawal from Poker Dream? What planet are these guys from??? If we could make withdrawals from Poker Dream, we wouldn't be having this conversation!!

I feel the management of this room are, at the very least idiots, and at the most, possibly scam artists. I would use exteme caution dealing with these people: Better yet, avoid altogether. If this is their idea of getting people to play, they obviously are not well-informed about the current state of affairs in online poker, and therefore probably have little idea of what they're doing.

Well, how about that: I got a response from them in 15 minutes flat. Here's the response:

I had no idea the situation with pokerdream has gone to that extremes, and shocked to find out that they have stopped withdrawals. I was simply informing current players of Midnights Poker Club move to a new network.

Customer Service: A+. Nice response rate.
Having a Clue: F

No idea about the Poker Dream situation? Someone's been living under a rock for the past 4 months. They need to sign up to APCW :)
Well, seems I caused a little system-wide retraction (patting self on the back). The latest mass e-mail from Midnights Poker Room:

Dear Player

It has come to my very recent attention that the problems with PokerDream are deeper than my experience with them had me to believe. We have received support messages on our network about your problems regarding withdrawals from PokerDream, and some of your misinterpretations that I have a part in PokerDream's transactions. The ability to withdraw from pokerdream is the sole responsibility of pokerdream.

Midnights Poker Club was only a former skin of PokerDream and at that time, did not take any rake, or money from its players. As a former player of pokerdream myself, I understand your frustrations with them, as I too was very let down by them. I am completely disgusted with their recent behavior, the very reason for leaving that network many months ago. In no way is Midnights Poker Club associated with them.

If I am to take that as an apology, it is accepted. And nice to see they came out and ammended their previous emails. You don't find many rooms that will do that, and this quickly either. Well done
First of all, I have players of mine that also got this email, and I am actually pissed off here. They never knew about PD??? BS , then how did they get all my players email addresses,,,I would like them to explaine this...hmmmmmmmm???? Only PD, and me are suppose to have them or is this another PD start up???
Midnights Poker Club also claims to be lisenced in Malta. They are not.
Blue,

I agree that is why as soon as I received this email I sent you and JTodd copies. And the email address is one i used when I signed up at Poker KNights a long time ago and rarely use it for anything anymore. It had to come to me via poker dream.

Rowlph
I have received these same emails and have put them in the trash. I never noticed any promotions from "Midnight Poker Club" when they were with PokerDream. And they didn't have an "s" on midnight when they were there either. I'm even thinking about placing them on my blocked list. As BigMoody1 sais above about this new site: "AVOID ALTOGETHER".

Since they are offering to assist with transfers, I suggest every PD player send them an email asking for said "assistance". Then keep pestering them for results! That'll keep em busy for a while and may get their attention regarding spamming everyone they managed to pilfer email addresses for.

WTF !!

How can he claim to have not taken rake? It was auto deposited to his account !!
VERY VERY VERYYYYYY Good point Blue!!

MMMMMMMMMM........
The only thing regarding this that I know for sure...is Midnight Poker was a Fairly newer Skin and had no different Player RakeBack Arrangements SetUp while I was still Argg...at PD and the Skin wasnt all the way done at the time I Departed that I remember.
But they werent based in Malta at PD either.
Not much help I know...But thought I'd throw it in.
Midnights Poker Club had a special promo at PD offering their players 100% Rakeback until December I believe it was ... They very freely advertised this deal at the poker tables and used it to steal many members from other skins, including mine.

I have no proof about this but what I heard was they were kicked off PD because they found a way to give players 100% rakeback and still make their cut of the rake in addition, which shouldn't have been possible.
